Obama Says the Private Sector is ‘Doing Fine’ –
Does Kathy Hochul Agree?

BUFFALO --- On Friday, President Obama claimed that the private sector has been “doing fine” despite the announcement of some of the worst economic news of his term in office – does Kathy Hochul agree? After all, Hochul endorsed President Obama this weekend, signaling that she wants to continue the failed policies that have left Western New York families saddled in debt, small business owners fighting more layers of red tape and the economy in disarray.

“The President’s belief that the private sector is doing fine is outrageous and appalling.  The Obama agenda has exploded the nation’s debt and has left our economy in shambles.  While in the district, Kathy Hochul masquerades as a moderate, yet in Washington she votes time and again to support the President’s hyper-regulatory policies and massive spending sprees,” said Erie County Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy. “Does Kathy Hochul live in the same paradox as President Obama where he thinks sky-high unemployment and small economic growth is a signal that small businesses are ‘doing fine?’"

At a press conference, President Obama alleged that small businesses were “doing fine”:

“President Barack Obama offered up a gift to Republicans Friday morning, declaring ‘the private sector is doing fine,’ at a White House press conference.”
(Zeke Miller, “Obama: ‘The Private Sector is Doing Fine,”BuzzFeed, 6/8/2012)

Due to the job-killing policies of Kathy Hochul’s party, the national May unemployment numbers remained unacceptably high and only a dismal 69,000 jobs were created:

“Employers added a seasonally adjusted 69,000 jobs last month, the smallest increase in a year, and estimates for the two previous months were lowered.”
