Good Morning,
As you cover Kathy Hochul’s first TV ad today, I wanted to provide you with some evidence of Kathy Hochul’s reckless economic record.
“Career politician Kathy Hochul is stumbling right out of the gate admitting that she raised taxes on Western New York working families,” said Erie County Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy. “Kathy Hochul’s tax-and-spend record will destroy jobs and further harm our economy, and that’s why Western New Yorkers can’t afford to send her to Congress. Kathy Hochul can run from her reckless economic record, but she can't hide."
Hochul, News Outlets All Agree She Raised Taxes:

WGRZ’s Fact Check Verifies Hochul Raised Taxes 45%. “The ad states that during Hochul's 13 years on the Hamburg Town Board, taxes went up by 45%, which works out to about 3.5% per year. That statement is true.” ( WGRZ, 3/23/2011)
WGRZ’s Fact Check Says Hochul Raised Tax Rates. “The ad also says that ‘Kathy Hochul voted to raise tax rates in 11 town budgets...’ That statement is also true…” (WGRZ, 3/23/2011)

Hochul Is Trying To Hide The Facts From Western New York Voters:
WGRZ Says Hochul Wants To Stay Far Away From The Question Of Taxes.“Hochul wants to stay as far away from the question of taxes as possible. As a matter of fact, her official campaign biography on her website, makes no mention of her time as a town councilmember.” ( WGRZ, 3/23/2011)
Buffalo News Notes Hochul Doesn’t Mention Her 13 Year Record On The Hamburg Town Board. “Indeed, Hochul's new website does not even mention that she served 13 years on the Town Board…He [Hochul Spokesman] did not discuss her record as a Hamburg Town Board member.” ( Buffalo News, 3/22/2011)
