Chairman Nicholas A. Langworthy

Nicholas A. Langworthy, Chairman

Erie County Republican Committee members elected Nicholas A. Langworthy as their Chairman in May of 2010.

Nick’s life's service has been to the Republican Party, beginning as a volunteer when he was a student at Niagara University. During that time Langworthy recruited other college students from across Western New York and around the state to get involved in local Republican campaigns and make a difference in our community.

Langworthy’s first job out of college was a five-year stint under Congressman Tom Reynolds, who gave him the opportunity to serve Western New Yorkers and, of course, learn valuable political lessons about how to win elections in Erie County. That tenure culminated with the duty of serving as Congressman Reynolds' Campaign Manager for the 2006 election. This was one of the most hotly contested campaigns in the country, and certainly the most expensive campaign Western New York has ever seen. Langworthy was instrumental in a hard-fought victory over Washington Democrats and their liberal special interest allies.

Following the election of County Executive Chris Collins, Langworthy served as Erie County GOP's Executive Director. As Executive Director Nick led the effort to successfully devise and implement an ambitious plan of action where the Erie County GOP became the Party of meaningful reform. He helped recruit principled candidates from the private sector, including Jane Corwin and Chris Lee.

Serving as Congressman Chris Lee's campaign manager in 2008, Langworthy witnessed firsthand yet again how Democrats are willing to say and do anything to get elected. By sticking to the formula of focusing on Western New Yorkers' everyday concerns and having the resources necessary to communicate that message, Langworthy helped Lee achieve an overwhelming victory despite the Obama tidal wave sweeping the country.

After Congressman Lee’s election, Nick served as Lee's District Director, helping him ensure Western New Yorkers received effective representation in Washington and constituent service that they deserve.

A graduate of Pine Valley High School, Langworthy attended Niagara University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2003. Nick is a South Dayton, NY native and resides in Buffalo.
